Selected services available in Indianapolis, South Bend and Chicago areas
Carmel, Ind., September 13, 2004–Steve Johns, president and CEO of Carmel-based eGIX, today announced that the privately-held carrier has deployed equipment and infrastructure to offer Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services to its current and future clients. eGIX will debut three product lines in Indiana and Illinois that leverage the advantage of this new technology--eVOLVE, eNCOMPASS and eNSEMBLE. While several companies have announced their intentions to offer VoIP, eGIX is one of the first facilities-based service providers in the Midwest to deliver business grade IP services.
According to Johns, this will have a significant impact on the community. “eGIX’s VoIP services raise the competitive bar at a time when competition has been stifled by changes in the regulatory climate,” said Johns. “eGIX delivers ‘best in show’ carrier grade technologies from telephony, desktop integration, mobility, and business applications to creating customized business solutions that are compatible with new and existing equipment.”
Johns added that eGIX’s approach is very different than other companies in the market. “Regardless of size, businesses want to improve collaboration for geographically dispersed employees, increase productivity and mobility of their workforces and reduce communications costs,” said Johns. “Our unique product offering is one that embraces this concept by providing rentable, scalable and affordable solutions that are an exact fit for the small to medium sized business market as they seamlessly converge and encompass all their communication needs, preventing duplication and lowering costs.”
The new eVOLVE product line will be marketed to businesses. It delivers solutions in three ways:
-
VoIP services with customizable interface
that allows users to modify their personal phone settings
in real time via a web-based dashboard
-
Integrated T1 service that features
burstable bandwidth, allowing users to run voice and
data over a broadband connection
-
Standard digital voice service. eVOLVE
Business Services are flexible and can be integrated
to work with or around existing phone systems or replace
them entirely.
eVOLVE Business Services will be available in most areas of Indianapolis and the surrounding communities as well as South Bend and Mishawaka.
The eNCOMPASS product line will be marketed to residential and home office users as an all encompassing solution converging local phone service, long distance, email and enhanced messaging services. Like eVOLVE, users are empowered to modify and manage their line features like caller ID, do not disturb, call forwarding, view call logs and more via a user friendly, web-based dashboard. And, unlike ‘traditional’ phone service providers, all of those enhanced line features are included with the eNCOMPASS service plan at no additional charge.
eNCOMPASS Residential and Home Office Services will be offered in the same service areas as eVOLVE but will also include Chicago, Ill.
The eNSEMBLE line of services will be marketed to businesses as an outsourced solution for the development of customized applications and communications products, managed services, and IT Consulting.
